Staying connected
"You're not a human being seeking a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience." This quote is in Pierre Teilhard de Chardin … , 20th century philosopher, mystic, and Jesuit priest. As a spiritual being, which are an extension of universal infinite Spirit. Spirit has become you, embarking on a great journey to experience and enjoy this magnificent universe from his unique perspective.
Recalling its connection with the Spirit is at the heart of the practice of almost all spiritual. When you are able to remember your connection with Spirit and their spiritual nature – although a little – they tend to be more optimistic, more alive … to act with greater clarity and self-assurance … is likely to attract more positive circumstances in his life … and its presence has a subtle effect that lifts all you encounter.
Universal practice to be connected
Most traditions spiritual have included some means of remembering the connection to the spirit of the day. When you see a Buddhist or a Hindu turning a set of prayer beads, that's what they're doing. As they move from heel to heel, usually repeated a mantra with each account … a mantra to remind them of their connection with the Divine.
Instead of using beads as a reminder, some Tibetan Buddhists use a prayer wheel … a cylinder on a stick that becomes as wave in a circular motion. Written on the wheel is usually the mantra: Om Mani Padme Hum, which means I am the jewel in the lotus … I am the jewel of pure Spirit dwelling in the lotus of my heart or the lotus of my body and the physical world. Turn the wheel while repeating the mantra serves as a constant reminder that the practitioner is a spiritual being.
The branches more orthodox Judaism and mystical, almost every facet of life incorporates some kind of ritual or prayer to help remember their relationship with God. This includes special clothing, such as the yarmulke, or skullcap, designed to remind one of the crown chakra – its relationship with the Spirit and the spiritual realms – all day. All that serves as a reminder of the Divine.
In Catholicism and the various branches of Orthodox Christianity, the rosary is used along with a repetitive prayer, as the prayer of the Hail Mary, as a way to stay connected with the Divine. Muslims engage in formal prayer five times a day to maintain your connection, and they also use prayer beads as a reminder.
You do not have to be a follower of a religion or spiritual tradition to do this … any person may choose to stay in touch. All it takes is to incorporate one or more simple practices in their day to help you remember your spiritual nature. And even if you remember only a few times during the day, is a very valuable practice.
Staying at a higher vibration
One way of looking this practice is one point of view of the vibration level. Staying connected keeps you in a higher vibration level, and the higher your vibration is at a given time, the better you feel, the clearer it is, the more you are in the flow of life.
When you are at a higher vibration level, knowledge is wider, and an expanded state is a relaxed and fluid state. The lower your vibration, the more engaged your conscience tends to be, and contraction is equal the voltage, resistance, in the conclusion and stop the flow.
The fear exists in a lower vibration ~ love exists on a higher vibration.
Pull up – Pull Down
Currently there are two powerful forces to make us. A force is pulling us up … work to raise our vibration. The other force that exerts a downward force to a lower vibration. There is no reason to label these forces good and evil. They are the cosmic forces only natural – the force of evolution and opposing force – serving the purpose they were created to serve.
If you notice changes in mood and mental states on a typical day, you can see these forces at work. You have a choice. You do not have to automatically go along when the force is exert downward itself. You can choose to make a small effort to keep your vibration up. Staying connected is what matters most will help you do this.
If you decides to do a little effort to stay connected, there are several ways to do it. Included below is a simple but effective exercise you can use. Exercise itself is fairly easy … The trick is remembering to use it. The more often remember better. But it would be counterproductive to go down on yourself for not remembering.
The exercise will combine two of the most effective and universally used means to be connected … awareness of breathing and the use of mantras. While the practice of this exercise are not aiming for an experience clear, deep … just a little consciousness that you are a spiritual being … an extension of the Spirit universal infinite.
A simple exercise to stay connected
This exercise does not need to be with my eyes closed. It is designed to practice in the middle of his daily activities (although it can be used as a sitting meditation, as well).
The mantra for this exercise is: I am that
The word "That, as we are using here, represents the spirit. You are stating that you are a part of the Spirit. I am That is a mantra of the old … used for ages in the Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. However, if the word "that" does not resonate with you, you can substitute another term – preferably a concise – as the "spirit" or "Light" … I am Spirit, or I am the light.
Each time you inhale, think "I am That" once.
When thinking of the mantra, think of the limitless light of the Spirit – the pure consciousness without limits – centered here and now, as you – your essence – your pure consciousness.
Variation 1
You can use the Sanskrit version of "I am That", which is: So Hum
So = it – Hum = I am (Some traditions invest the words: Um So)
Variation 2
You can use "I am who I am" which has the same essential meaning.
Where are the best times to practice this exercise?
Every time you find yourself getting stressed is a good time to take a moment to reconnect and remember that you are a spiritual being. While waiting in line is also a good time – in the market, the bank or post office, etc. – or when it is "on hold", waiting to speak with a customer representative.
If you can remember to do this regularly throughout the day, will make a significant difference. There are a variety of good reasons to make an effort to stay connected. On a mundane level practice, reduce the amount of stress collected in the course of a day. On a more cosmic level, it will accelerate their spiritual growth. But after testing it for a while, you can simply find that it is worth making some effort to stay connected, because when it does, you just feel better and enjoy life more.
