Sterling Silver Opal
Cleaning a silver necklace?

I have a silver necklace with small opal in the center that I just bought one a few weeks ago. I spilled some solution contact him, he was the guy who is super acidic, while I was sleeping and when I woke my necklace was real blurred black. Its really dirty. How I can clean without damaging the opal, but still get completely clean and back to original shine.

Well with the solution spilled acid is not known very well, as it was black. But in general, clean mine with an old toothbrush, water and baking soda. It takes the hassle. Only brush teeth wet with water, dip a little baking soda (put some baking soda in a paper towel) and brush gently. Since silver is law does not hesitate to flush but be sure to dry thoroughly. If necessary, use a hair dryer but do not leave it wet. You can do that or go to the mall. Many people do not know this, but you can go to almost any jewelry store in the mall (big as Zales) and ask them to clean your jewelry like a ring. There has to be purchased there for them to do. Hope this helps!
