How can I get the Arabic script translated into English?
I have a large (19 inches in diameter), engraved or etched decorative mural, brass and copper, the center of which appears to contain writing in what could be stylized Arabic script. How would I go about learning if it was Arabic and get translated? It's too big to fit on my scanner.
If is decorative, chances are Islamic. It is against Islamic beliefs to describe a person, animal or any life, I think. However, generally the decorative arts is a highly phenominal geometry, or a written word that has designed. The words are usually in the Koran, more commonly associated with the greatness of God. Your local university may have Arabic speaking students they would be willing to help find out. Indeed, the Persian and Arabic are languages, which helps to know that as well.
