In Bush's speech today made reference to Jeremiah Biblical claim that God gave the Jews land from the Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea, including the West Bank and Gaza – This is the Manifest Destiny of a sacred text. The establishment of State of Israel, Bush said, "was the redemption of an ancient promise given to Abraham and Moses and David: a homeland for the chosen people – Eretz Yisrael Well, now we see why we will not negotiate.
This could explain why it is a disaster.

Myanmar and Israel – Fighting the Semantic Wars
Is it "Myanmar" or "Burma"? "Yangon" and "Rangoon"?
Burma and its great city of Rangoon were renamed Myanmar and Yangon in 1989 by the military junta that seized power there at that time.
Nations United has officially recognized these changes in the names of one of its member countries
United States, Britain and Australia do not have.
President George Bush and prime ministers Gordon Brown and John Howard continue to use "Burma" and "Rangoon". Such use is deliberate and is intended to show its total rejection of the acquisition board and everything you do thereafter as a result.
Not a bad way to your point of view – by the use of a word. Such is the power of semantics ..
China, Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations [ASEAN] on the other hand follow the United Nations and use "Myanmar" and "Yangon".
In your opinion, when dealing with a government can not interfere in the internal affairs of that country. Nothing could be more internal than calling a rose by any other name.
Semantics – especially when it comes to names of places – play an important role in any opacity or definition clear of the real political problems that the dog's behavior for external relations in many countries.
What is particularly interesting in this battleground Current semantic is the role played by the media. They are divided into the terms to use.
The election of President Bush is the choice of everyone in the U.S. media.
The Voice of America, the Washington Post, and the time to follow the President and the use of "Burma" and "Rangoon". However, the New York Times, CNN and the Wall Street Journal use "Myanmar" and "Yangon".
Reuters, Associated Press and the International Herald Tribune have fallen on the side of the United Nations and the use of "Myanmar" and "Yangon". They consider themselves as being impartial in the acceptance the election of an independent arbitrator.
Policy decisions that are obviously being taken by different media so that the names to use – probably indicating their position on the political crisis. This is a healthy exercise in freedom of expression rather than slavishly following all others in their reports.
Honors are about even in the media semantics war on Burma.
Media communication by Burma / Myanmar, is however absent when it comes to using place names "Judea and Samaria" instead of the name of the place "West Bank" to describe the area captured by Israel from Jordan in 1967.
"Judea and Samaria" were the names used by the United United in Resolution 181 of 29 November 1947 – the famous partition resolution – which is now in the media spotlight once again.
That is as an official endorsement as you can get from the United Nations of the names right place for an area that had been so designated and known for the past 3000 years.
Judea and Samaria were the two locations of the two biblical kingdoms of the Jews – the southern Kingdom of Judah and the northern Kingdom of Israel, the capital of the that was for a time in the city of Samaria. These areas were the cradle of the Jewish nation. The main religious tombs and sites holy to Jews live there. 450,000 Jews live there today.
"West Bank" was coined only by Jordan in 1950 and was used until 1967 to delineate the area west the Jordan River, which had been captured by Jordan in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, when Jews living there were expelled by the Jordanian army. This new name operated to irrevocably sever any historical connection of Jews to the place of birth and national existence.
Israel's attempt to restore the term "Judea and Samaria," after its capture from Jordan in 1967 has been undermined by clever and persistent Arab use of the term "West Bank" at every opportunity in the media.
Only a few media Jewish right in Israel and abroad repeatedly and now use "Judea and Samaria"
The Office of Foreign Affairs of Israel and Foreign Minister as well as the costumes used hand them. The fact that 450,000 Jews live there now is apparently of little importance to the Government that is supposed to be protecting their rights of permanent residence accordance with international law.

Maybe now the media deliberately make decisions about the use of "Burma" or "Myanmar" CBN take the initiative and make their own individual decisions to recognize the 3000 years old geographical names "Judea and Samaria", with the use of the term of 50 years, "West Bank" – thus giving recognition to the fact that the Jews have argued that, as the Arabs.
